Elk Ridge Racing makes realistic Pinewood Derby car models inspired by legendary classic cars, including Formula 1 race cars, classic sports cars, and vintage trucks, as well as novelty cars. They are available in several different different forms to meet the needs of hard-core 3D makers, avid Pinewood Derby racers, and everyone in between.
Basic Kits include:
3D-printed body shell machined from an official BSA kit
3D-printed accessories
Machined original wood block (the chassis that the 3D printed body sits on)
Original BSA wheels and axles (as they come in the box)
Kit w/ Decals adds:
Laser cut wet transfer decals (including a random number or one that you select, up to 2 digits)
Full Kit w/ Speed adds:
Original BSA wheels and axles (but the axles are professionally polished and the wheels are lathed, so you don't have to do that yourself)
Enough tungsten weights to bring the car to 5 oz.
Bottle of graphite powder
Fully painted and assembled with polished axles and lathed wheels. Everything included in the Full Kit w/ Speed. Ready to take to the derby.
Models are available to download for free from MakerWorld (and, in many cases, Thingiverse).
The Ferrari2 246 F1 was built for the Formula One World Championship of 1958 and was the first V6-powered car and the last front-engined car to win a Formula One Grand Prix. It won a total of 5 races out of 25 that it raced in.
The 1958 Vanwall was built by Vanwall, a motor racing team and racing car constructor founded by Tony Vandervell, and was active in Formula 1 racing in the 1950s. It went head-to-head against the Ferrari 246, winning the inaugural Constructors' Championship in Formula One in 1958.
